America is one of the very very very few cultures that puts our parents into retirement homes, while almost every other culture (Hispanics/Asians/Indians/etc) have a very big household, and take care of their elders. Well, the reason why we do this, is because when we expanded West, the old people only slowed us down and died on the way. So we ended up leaving them behind.
