Can FWD cars drift, or does drifting imply powersliding? Anonymous 04/07/11(Thu)23:07 No.4529436
This thread is about your opinion. Don't act like your opinion is a fact. If you insult someone else's opinion, you pretty much admit you have no valid argument.>> Fuck You're Supra !SUPRaH.aco 04/07/11(Thu)23:09 No.4529448
Definition of drifting from Wikipedia
"Drifting refers to a driving technique and to a motorsport where the driver intentionally over steers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels through turns, while maintaining vehicle control and a high exit speed."Drifting Implies you're a faggot, so I guess FWD is a perfect match.>> Anonymous 04/07/11(Thu)23:09 No.4529449Op Opinion:>> CupHolders !S8UWokkL4Q 04/07/11(Thu)23:11 No.4529455
I think powersliding implies the use of power to slide. Obviously, this can only be done with RWD vehicles.
I believe drifting is a broader definition that includes a controlled slide of any vehicle, even an unpowered car.You ever seen a fwd wheel drive doing a burnout? Looks like a fucking merry go round.>> UofKentucky mazda3ifag 04/07/11(Thu)23:12 No.4529463I can kinda drift my mazda 3. I just have to turn sharply at a fairly high speed and as I come out of the corner the back end loses grip and slides. Being a FWD though the car basically auto corrects itself in less than a second.>> Anonymous 04/07/11(Thu)23:14 No.4529479
So, holding a good drift in a FWD car seems nearly impossible.Video of a civic "drifting">> Anonymous 04/07/11(Thu)23:16 No.4529489

?by the definition from wiki, you can drift in a FWD car.>> Grand !!bKZ6D1W+CNu 04/07/11(Thu)23:31 No.4529577>>4529551>> 族車TYTE-R旧車~(・ᆠ・ )~ !GTRkY/VtrY 04/07/11(Thu)23:32 No.4529584
The dynamics of it, not the definition. FWD cars cannot

The Civic in op pic was built for drifting.
FWD drift cars have been done multiple times already, it just takes someone who actually knows what the fuck they're doing to build one and money. that too.
It will remain a novelty and RWD will always be better for said application.>>4529591>> Anonymous 04/07/11(Thu)23:51 No.4529668

Also yes, I have seen these cars. They have a lot more going on than just FWD and e-brake bullshit by the way. Unfortunately those coming to this thread in hopes of being able to drift their mom's civic are not going to have any luck.>>4529680
>>Those two things are actually one, and they're only used in rally.
1. I know, that's what the slash denotes.
2. Only used in rally? Do the laws of physics change when you leave a rally to make feint drifting impossible?
What are your opinions on the subject?
