I wrote another short story, this time about people. It's called People (B-Side). I dont think People (A-Side) will ever see the light of day. In any case, here's a link and an excerpt:

http://db.tt/hhOpDDLx “Astronomy is a humbling experience”, the armchair astronauts of our day would have us believe. To prove their point they produce a picture of space that, upon first glance, seems patently unimpressive: a mass of inky darkness scarred by soft streaks of sunlight. They point to one particular spot on this photograph and instruct us to squint, revealing a tiny speck suspended within the brightest sunbeam, a pale blue dot – Earth.
The message they wish to impart is seen clearly enough, but they drawl anyway, “Everything and everyone you have ever known, hated, or loved is on that dot,” or something to that effect. They continue on with a brief, ham-fisted summation of human existence, making passive mention of exploration, civilization, education, romance, war, emotion, and morality, among other things, in an effort to shrink these mammoths down into the perspective of a space probe. They seek to make us feel as infinitely small as the pixels which compose that pale blue dot. They declare that, in the grandest scheme of things, we are insignificant.
But before you begin to feel smal, consider the following true story I just made up.
